Galleria dell'Accademia - founded in 1784 by Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo for the use of art students at the Accademia delle Belle Arti. The Accademia contains sculptures by Michelangelo as well as a collection of minor paintings of the Florentine school dating from the 13th to the 19th centuries;
Medici Palace and Chapel - whose construction goes back
to 1444, when Cosimo il Vecchio hired the admired
project director Michelozzo di Bartolomeo. Inside you can admire the wonderful
Magi Chapel frescoes by Benozzo Gozoli.

Uffizi Gallery - houses the finest collection of paintings in Italy with masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo and Caravaggio. The Uffizi Gallery covers an area of about 8000 sq.m. and contains one of the most important collections of art of all times, including classical sculptures and paintings on canvas and wood by 13th to 18th century Italian and foreign schools. The Uffizi was also the first museum ever to be opened to the public in 1591.
Duomo - the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the most famous landmark in Florence. The basic project was designed by Arnolfo di Cambio in the 13th century, the cupola was created by Filippo Brunelleschi during the Renaissance period.
